His older sister, Hannah, had Alfie the same year as Williams broke his back and left the Marines. 

Hannah, who is a single mom, got a lot of help from her brother during his recovery and after.

He said spending time with his niece made everything better and was the distraction he needed from everything that had happened. 

Williams and his family had two labradors who died of old age before they got Jessie (right) and Tillie (left.

They got the two sisters in 2013. They were only meant to have Jessie, but took in Tillie as people said she was too crazy to be trained. 

Being a life-long dog-lover, it helped to have two (extremely) hyperactive dogs in the house again after the other two passed away.
